Dearly beloved
in Christ,
Greetings to you in the name of our Lord
who gave his life for us through the
Cross of Calvary. Lent observance is
not merely a ritual commemoration of the
passion of Christ but a meaningful
participation in the sufferings of
Christ. The Cross was not accidental
but a willful choice by Jesus for the
redemption of the World. The values of
the Cross should be manifested through
the life of a Christian. The Son of Man
must suffer, be rejected, be killed and
be raised on the third day (Luke 9:22).
The Cross is not the ultimate end but it
is a pointer to the living hope- the
resurrection event-the victory of the
Way of Cross. .
"God in your grace, transform the World"
was the theme chosen for the 9th
assembly of the World Council of
Churches held in Brazil. This prayer
affirms the importance of the grace of
God in the transformation of the World.
In this transformation process each,
Christ and the Church has a pertinent
role. Each parish is expected to
reflect that transformation through its
life and witness by being a community of
love and fellowship. Let us be people
of mutual understanding, care, concern
and be willing to acknowledge, accept
and appreciate others. The focus of our
life should be the one who died and
resurrected for us out of his love and
praise and not by our merit or quality.
May God continue to bless us.
With Prayers & Easter Greetings,
Alexander Tharakanachen.
